In Memory of Rebecca Lepkoff

Rebecca Lepkoff VCPVCP is very saddened by the news of the loss of our dear friend and member Rebecca Lepkoff. Rebecca, who just celebrated her 98th birthday a few weeks ago, passed away peacefully on August 17th in Townshend, VT. Rebecca’s photographs were featured in many important exhibitions including A History of Women Photographers at the New York Public Library (1996) and Radical Camera: New York’s Photo League at the Jewish Museum (2011). Recently she had a solo exhibition at the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side. You can see Rebecca in the film, Ordinary Miracles: The Photo League’s New York.

It was such a pleasure and a great honor to have been able to spend time with her over the last 3 years I have been at VCP. She never ceased to amaze me with her sharp wit and deep passion for photography. VCP extends our deepest condolences and thoughts to her family & loved ones.
