The Vermont Center for Photography is proud to present the work of Jason R. Henske, a nationally known photojournalist from Brattleboro, Vermont. The exhibit “Fire & Rescue”, focuses on images of firefighters and rescuers performing their duties throughout the United States, with an emphasis on southern Vermont. We see not only how they work and the drama of an emergency, but the stress and pain written on their faces as they confront life and death situations.

Henske’s work has appeared in many newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, New York Daily News, The Christian Science Monitor, Newsday and The Washington Post, among many others. He is currently the photo editor of the Brattleboro Reformer.

In addition to daily news assignments, Henske has a strong interest in fire and rescue services, and has photographed the day-to-day operations of first responders throughout the United States. This show is a testimony to the courage and heroism of the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to help others.

This show is sponsored in part by Stevens & Associates Engineering and The Brattleboro Reformer.
