The Vermont Center for Photography Group Exhibit

VCP Exhibiting Members

This August, the walls of the Vermont Center for Photography will be covered with an eclectic show of photographs that are as diverse as our membership.
Regional photographers will be filling the gallery with their personal sightings, offering to the viewer their newest works.

The artists included in this exhibit are: Peter Haas, Laura Migliori, Suzanne Flynt, Sarah Lavigne, Al Karevy, Jim Latchis, Chris Curtis, Charles Carpino, Gene Butera, Barry Dial, Chris Triebert, Paul Adkins, Judy Stalus, Stephen Parker, Bob Cantius, Jonathan Flaccus, Jeff Lapid, Lydia McCarthy and others. Each of these artists belongs to the Vermont Center for Photography’s exhibiting membership whose annual dues goes toward the support of a not for profit photographic art center supporting the photographers of the Southeast Vermont, Southwest NewHampshire and the Northwestern Massachusetts region and beyond.

One artist, Stephen Parker, has been discovering his own personal vision by abstracting interesting details from many sites, both natural and manmade. Parker shoots digitally and prints black and white to highlight the fine compositions revealed.

Lydia McCarthy sees her world in color. Her photographs feel like she always has a camera with her and when she sees the magic space between composition, subject matter and ideas, she clicks the shutter.
The other artists run the gamut from landscape to pinhole to wild botanicals to horses letting you see their true personality.

An opening reception will be held at the Gallery, 49 Flat Street during Brattleboro’s Gallery Walk on Friday, August 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be available. The exhibit ends on Saturday, September 1.
