Voice of a River: The Battenkill

John Kudukey

- Nov 2006

Exhibition Image
“My interest in the Battenkill started when I was a young boy, reading fishing magazines and wondering what it would be like to fish on such a famous trout stream.  Many years later in the summer of 2005, I made my first cast on the quiet waters near Shushan. What I discovered was a magical sense of place, where light filtering through trees sparkled on crystal pools and the melody of rippling water harmonized with a chorus of summer insects. For more than a year, I observed and recorded the river’s varied and transient moods. The images in this exhibit are the expression of that pursuit.”
