Workshops

A variety of workshops are offered throughout the year to meet the needs of many different levels of skill. Workshops range from one and two-day classes to 8 consecutive weekly sessions. Please check our website, or call for a list of current workshop dates, times and fees.

Membership Benefits

All members, exhibiting and non-exhibiting, receive a 10% discount on workshops, a reduced rate on darkroom rental ($10 an hour for members, $15 for non-members), and are invited to participate in the monthly open portfolio sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity for members to show their works in progress, share resources and ideas, and offer support. Members can sell their books, notecards and other items in the gallery on a commission basis.

Exhibiting Your Work

Once accepted, all exhibiting members are invited to show in the annual Members Open Shows in March, in August, and the Small Works Holiday Show & Sale in December. Exhibition costs for Members Shows are typically $25.

Solo and small group feature exhibitions are scheduled at the discretion of the jury committee. There is a $200 hanging fee for each solo and small group feature show, which includes heavy media promotion with newspaper and radio press releases throughout the region, a feature page on our website, an ad in the monthly Gallery Walk guide, and an opening reception with refreshments.

VCP will retain 50% of sales made in the gallery. All exhibiting members are also encouraged to leave a portfolio of work on permanent display that will be actively shown by the gallery staff.
